Book Blogger Convention Affiliates with BEA

Can we tell you how excited we are?

I don’t think words can possibly express how wonderful it is to be able to announce that the first annual Book Blogger Convention is officially affiliating with Book Expo America.

We’ve been working feverishly to get this going and have some awesome perks to offer our participants as part of the Book Blogger Convention.

What fabulous changes does this mean for our attendees?

  1. We’re moving venues!
Now the Book Blogger Convention will be held directly at the Jacob Javits Center along side BEA.  But don’t worry our date of Friday May 28th and our times are all still the same!  We’re just making it easier for everyone to get to a familiar place.
  2. We have more space!
We’re no longer going to have to cap out at 150 participants.  We will have plenty of room for as many bloggers, authors and industry people as want to attend.  Well up to 500 anyway, LOL.
  3. Book Expo badge bundling!
Each attendee at the Book Blogger Convention will be provided a badge to BEA as part of their registration fee at no additional cost.  It’s one stop shopping, you no longer need to register at the Book Expo website you just need to register with us and you’re getting a badge for entry.
  4. Exclusive BEA news!
Once registered you’ll be receiving exclusive updates from Book Expo America on events and latest news.  We’ll be in the know people.

Things to keep in mind — the registration fee structure will remain the same, we’ll still be offering a light continental breakfast and lunch, and the agenda will mostly remain the same (though we have one small change we’ve made that was in the works that has nothing to do with our movement of venue).

Big thanks go out to the organizers of Book Expo America, as I’ve mentioned, we’re extremely excited to be working with a dynamic team who is as dedicated as we bloggers are to books, authors and the publishing industry.

AAAHHHH! I’ve already registered for both, so I guess I’m out of luck on getting into the two for one deal? That really stinks!

But congrats on getting the two linked!

Wow … this is incredible news! Congrats to all who worked so hard to make this happen and everything else connected with the Convention. Now I am even more excited to be going!

Trisha – How did you register for BEA? Book bloggers in the past have registered for a press pass for which there is no charge. BEA then approves you. This way they will approve everybody who attends Book Blogger Convention, without the chance that they will deny you a press pass.

Natasha – I registered as an educator since that was the one that fit for me. I didn’t realize I could register as press! I’m wondering if I can call them and change things around.

This is awesome news! I’m assuming if we already registered for BEA (the free Press registration) and the Con that it doesn’t matter that we didn’t do them bundled, right? That doesn’t change anything?

You are correct, Amanda! –trish

I had registered for BEA as press but was on the fence about Blogger Con just cause of how exhausted I was after BEA last year. And I was approved last year so I’d probably be again – but since this guarantees it I am leaning a lot more towards attending the Blogger Con. :)

I’ve registered for both already as well….how will this impact me and others who have already registered?

We’ll be sending an email out to all who have registered for the Book Blogger Convention regarding this issue. All those who have registered for both already will be reimbursed any registration fee they paid for BEA and will be provided a badge free of charge through the Book Blogger Convention. For most it’ll be a wash as they registered as press which was free anyway.

I just registered! I’m so excited!

Question: Just to be sure, is the BEA badge for all 3 days?

Stephanie, the BEA badge covers admission to all events that do not require additional registration cost (ie: author meals and certain educational programs).
